2012 World Label Award

We are now the proud recipients of a World Label Award!

The Colour, which won a gold medal and best label in show at the 2012 NZ Pride in Print Awards, has done it again. This World Label Award is a first for Rapid and we're very chuffed with the result.

The World Label Awards were judged at LabelExpo in Chicago by an international jury in September 2012. Due to the different timing of each country's awards events we had a long wait before results were able to be announced in February 2013.

The L9 associations (the alliance of global label associations) run and take part in the World Label Awards and include SALMA (New Zealand), LATMA (Australia), FINAT (Europe), JFLP (Japan), PEIAC (China) and TLMI (North America).

The awards are divided into 22 classes across the different types of printing processes. Each class has a winner and there may also be one or more "honourable mention" awards.

Our award was the winner of the "Combination Wine & Spirits" class. Combination refers to the fact that our label was printed using flexo, letterpress and screen technology.

Congratulations to our Production Manager, Alex Straight, and his team, this is deserving recognition of the quality work they produce every day.

At LabelExpo Brussels in September 2013 there will be an awards dinner at which five "Best of the Best" awards will be announced, one for each type of print process. The 22 World Label Award winners will be eligible for these five awards. So it looks like we'll be off to Belgium in September! Read here for how we got on...
