Prime labels is an industry term referring to labels for FMCG products – beer, food, water, personal care, juice, milk, softdrinks, honey, olive oil, eggs – labels on display in your local supermarket.
There are a few things to know about prime labels in New Zealand.
First and foremost, prime labels are price oriented. The grocery chains have stripped the fat out of the supply chain and dry goods (such as labels) for FMCG need to be low cost.
Second, to meet the low price points, you need the right gear. Early 2008 Rapid deployed equipment which competes on a level playing field with any label manufacturer in Australasia.
Finally, it is worth noting that until now, prime label supply in New Zealand has been dominated by a small number of players – those with the necessary machinery.
