Hokianga Harbour - October 2007

They presumed we were heading for the Barrier
But actually it was the Hokianga
The Omapere Copthorne is a superb venue
Sales planning, interrupted by an urgent new business pitch
Later, Joe & Bill of Footprints Waipoua showed us their place
Tane Mahuta
2000 years old, a majestic living legend
We spent a very cool 30 minutes there
Followed by a walk to the Heads lookout
Conditions were less than ideal
And the next day we were back planning for 2008
It wasn't as serious as it looks
Fine but windy for our Sand Dunes adventure
Top of the Sand Dunes - ready for sand surfing
Some found it easier than others

Incredible landscape
Nice style but not much action
Then a pick up from the Hokianga Express
Quick harbour tour
A magnetic place with justifiably proud locals
