Rapid Labels is a division of the Blue Star Group.

Blue Star is a Trans Tasman print group, privately owned by funds advised by CHAMP Private Equity, Tom Sturgess and Blue Star senior management.

Blue Star's Managing Director is Chris Mitchell, who joined BSG from EDS in May 2008.

BSG operates with three divisions (NZ Sheetfed, Australian Sheetfed and Webstar). Blue Star also has a position in the New Zealand label market. Operating within these divisions are something like twelve separately branded business units. Annual sales are currently NZ$600 million.

Customers can access the specialist services of an individual business unit or draw upon the collective skills of a whole division as a total integrated solution from one touchpoint.

Key operational capabilities of BSG include sheetfed printing, web offset printing, self-adhesive label converting, mailhouse services, pre-media and pre-press services, design and media integration, supply chain logistics and contract print management.

Blue Star allows it's General Managers to run their businesses independently, and in many cases allow the businesses to compete against each other in the open market.
